Advanced Level Riders

The minimum age for a horse to compete at Advanced Level is 7 years, and only Advanced horses and riders may compete in Endurance Rides (ERs).  The age of a horse or rider is deemed to change on 1st January of the current year irrespective of the actual birth date during that year.

Advanced level riders and horses may compete in all EGB classes i.e. Non Competitive Rides which are also known as Pleasure/Training/Social Rides (NCRs), Competitive Rides (CRs) and Endurance Rides (ERs).  CRs will be 30-80km and should be ridden at between 10-18kph, whilst ERs may be 80-160+km with a minimum speed of 10kph.  However, competitors may choose to compete at or below the qualification level of the horse and rider combination.  For example, an Advanced Level rider with an Advanced Level horse may compete at Novice, Open or Advanced.

Grading System

The grading system in CRs is designed to reward horse fitness and good horsemanship.

Grading Parameters will apply.

Advanced level horses and riders may compete in FEI classes (see separate page for FEI Rules and criteria).
