Please be aware that your advertisement will be available to
all website visitors, not just egb members. It is your responsibility to check
the validity of prospective purchasers and you are advised not to send goods on
trial without first receiving payment.
There are currently a number of internet ‘scams’ where the
purchaser offers to send you a bankers draft for too much money (‘by mistake’)
and then asks you for a cheque for the difference. The bankers draft will later
be found to be fraudulent – once you cheque has been cashed and the goods (or
horse) shipped! You are advised to contact the police if this arrangement is
offered to you.
