We have also had a number of articles published in regional and national press; and International Endurance Rider Beccy Broughton will feature in a four-part series of Masterclass articles, based on her Total Training Therapy business, in Horse magazine so keep your eyes peeled for that one – it should be very interesting! The Golden Horseshoe ran an additional class this year, enabling members of the media and press to experience Endurance Riding in a competitive class. All entrants were accompanied by an International rider listed for the British Senior Team and the winner was decided on a pulse/speed formula specific to the Golden Horseshoe. Fundraising for the British Team Riders to go to Kentucky is ongoing – as you can seen on the EGB website, currently YOU have raised £25,685! This is fantastic and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed so far…..

You are probably aware of a number of fundraising events taking place to raise money towards the Kentucky Fund – this is to help our International Riders meet the costs of taking their horses to WEG. Please do support these events, or if you are able to organise your own fundraising event, let us know what you intend to do and we will help and support you in this. Everyone who raises funds separately to EGB organised events will be in a special one-off feature in the Endurance GB magazine later this year….
The Kentucky Series Rides will provide many of us with a good training ride opportunity before the season starts “proper” so please do support these…. And BRING A FRIEND!
Think on this question….How did YOU get started in endurance? For many it is with the help and support of a knowledgeable friend, so encourage all those horsey friends you have to “give it a go!”
We want to grow our membership – the bigger we are as a society, the easier it becomes to provide more rides locally, and the more people realise what makes Endurance so special as a sport… think about what you love about Endurance and tell your friends about it…. if every member took one friend to one ride, that could make such a massive difference…. Especially as I know that those riders I have talked into doing “just one ride” are still competing every year…. The Kentucky Series Rides are a special opportunity to get your friends involved!
