British team success at the European Championships In Barroco D’Alva Portugal

Well done to the British Team - 6th in the Open Championships and 5th in the Europeans

4 of our riders completed - Susan Hawes with Jade Rani 18th (riding as an indivual), Fiona Hamilton with Sharifah 20th, Chris Yeoman with Farouk De Lozelle 23rd, and Nicky Sherry with Shimmering Blue Jasmine 34th. Well done to the whole team, their crews, and the management team.

Sadly Sally Hall was out at VG4, and Jayme Bone at VG3.

The race was won by Mubarak Khalifa Al Shafya UAE with Zakah Zahara at a speed of 19.115kph
There were 36 completions, out of 88 entries.

The British Team was
  • Sally Hall on Sire De Bozouls
  • Fiona Hamilton on Sharifa
  • Nicky Sherry on Shimmering Blue Jasmine
  • Chris Yeoman on Farouk De Lozelle.
Riding as individuals were

Sky Consort retired from the squad for Portugal

Sophie O’Hara Smith writes:
It is with great regret that I have to announce my decision to withdraw Sky Consort (Louis) from the European Championship team. Whilst he passed the final team assessment with flying colours last weekend and is 100% sound, I  am not confident that he can put in a Championship performance.  It is clear to me that he is not totally happy since I have increased his training after the selection ride at Cirencester where he sustained a blow to an old splint..Full Report

The IMT are pleased to report considerable activity on the International front. 

Invitation

We have received an invitation from France for four of our riders to travel to the Young Horse event in October at Uzes near Marseilles travel and accommodation expenses paid. The riders will have the opportunity to ride quality young French horses. The four riders selected for this trip are: -      Jayme Bone, Roz Clapp, RachelClaridge and Phillip Hirst

 

European Championship Team

The selectors are pleased to announce that the following riders have been selected for the European Championships in Portugal

The three reserves in alphabetical order are

  • Linda Hams and Perfeq Hidden Challenge
  • Susan Hawes and JadeRani

The reserves will be graded first second and third after the next Team week-end at the end of July.
