GERs are competitive rides starting at 20km and building all the way up to 160km. Your result is based not only on speed but also on your horse’s final heart rate — rewarding good training, pacing, and horsemanship. Longer rides are often divided into loops with “vet gates” in between, where your horse is checked for soundness, hydration, and heart rate (which must be below 64bpm). GERs combine the excitement of competition with a strong focus on horse welfare.

Competitive Endurance Rides (CERs)

CERs are endurance at its most competitive. One of the loveliest things about endurance is the camaraderie it fosters. You can absolutely enter with a friend and ride the course together. Many people find it reassuring to buddy up for their first few events.
Don’t have a horsey friend to ride with? No problem. Let the ride secretary know when you enter, and they can usually pair you up with someone of similar pace or experience level. You’ll often finish the ride with a new friend as well as a rosette.

Do I need crew?

You’ll often hear experienced riders talking about “crew” — their personal support team. Crew are incredibly helpful at longer distances, but they’re certainly not essential when you’re starting out.
At grassroots and novice level, many riders happily manage without crew. If you do have someone to help, all the better — they can meet you at designated “crew points” to offer your horse a drink or a cooling “slosh” of water on hot days. But for shorter distances, you and your horse can usually complete comfortably without extra support.

Think of crew as a nice-to-have, not a must-have.

How do I win?

At Endurance GB, Pleasure Rides are exactly that — for pleasure. Graded Endurance Rides (GERs) are scored using the Performance Formula, which takes into account both speed and your horse’s final heart rate. The height of the carousel. The carousel generally works best when using units that are
relative to the width of the screen. So, for example, a height of 35vw means that the height of the
carousel is 35% of the width of the screen. This gives a constant aspect ratio of 10:3.5.
Default mode uses the central carousel configuration as defined from the settings area of the website.
Custom mode allows you to define a list of images to display just on this carousel.

Visibility
Usually, the display of member data is subject to the logged-in user having specific entitlements to view that data. By default,
this component will respect those entitlements and only show data that the user is allowed to see. However, in certain circumstances,
you may wish to remove these restrictions and, instead, rely on the permissions required to view the CMS page itself.
For example, when creating a "Meet the Committee" page, for viewing by members, you will probably need to disable the member data entitlements as
members would not normally have permission to view the personal details of committee members.
the usual member visibility restrictions WILL be applied.
The displayed list of members will be limited to those who the logged in user has permission to see.
Important: the usual member visibility restrictions WILL NOT be applied.
All of the members in the list will be displayed, regardless of the logged in user's permissions. Please ensure that the CMS space
has appropriate restrictions applied.
the usual member data visibility restrictions WILL be applied.
In addition, for contact details, only those that have been explicitly shared by the member will be visible; even if the viewing
member has elevated permissions.
the usual member data visibility restrictions WILL be applied.
The information you select below will only be visible to those who have the entitlements to view those particular fields for the particular
members displayed.
Important: the usual member data visibility restrictions WILL NOT be applied.
